Interrelations between public policies, migration and development in Armenia

On September 8, 2015 «Accent» participated at the consultation meeting «Interrelations between public policies, migration and development in Armenia» organized by the OECD Development Centre and the European Commission at Yerevan State University.

CRRC-Armenia presented the preliminary results of a survey conducted among 2000 households within the commissioned by the OECD project aimed at enhancing the capacity of the project’s ten partner countries in incorporating migration into the design and implementation of their development strategies through case studies in order to better understand how international migration affects non-migration related public policies, and conversely, how these policies affect migration. It was focused on the labor market, education, agriculture and investment - key sectors for sustaining economic and social development.

This consultation meeting served as a platform to bring together experts from the OECD Development Center and all relevant stakeholders in Armenia (public officials, researchers, NGO representatives, donors and other interested) to discuss preliminary findings of the survey and open a dialogue on different points of views and interpretations.
